For various reasons the Fedora art team has decided to push back the deadline for round 2 theme submissions to February 12, one week back from the original due date of February 5th (today.) We are hopeful that the extra week will give folks the time they need to get their submissions ready.
Want to get involved? The list of theme ideas is on the Art Team’s F9 Themes wiki page. The theme ideas currently being proposed are:
- CODE9TO9 proposed by Jiri Jakub Masek
- Freedom proposed by Michael Beckwith
- Waves proposed by Martin Sourada
- At Last proposed by Andrew Healey
- Shoowa proposed by Luya Tshimbalanga
- Night proposed by Mola Pahnadayan
- Electric Sphere proposed by Mola Pahnadayan
In order for any of these themes to ‘pass’ round 2 and make it to round 3, they will need at least 1 wallpaper design and 3 supplemental designs, 1 vertical, 1 horizontal, and 1 square in form. If you really like a particular idea, please help support it by either convincing your favorite local friendly artist to contribute towards meeting the base requirements or even try to help come up with ideas and inspiration for visually depicting the theme on fedora-art-list. ALSO! One interesting request, if anyone has ideas on how any of the above theme ideas could incorporate sulphur, please let us know!!
Now I am going to plug one of the themes I have been working on:
I’m calling this variation of the Waves concept ‘sulfuric waves.’ What do you think? I would love to hear any and all constructive feedback on it, you can message fedora-art-list with your thoughts or just respond to this blog post and I’ll make sure it gets brought up on the art list.
